My son is very lucky to have some amazing coaches that have more patience than I with a big group of Mites to manage and teach. I believe that it is the coaches job to push and grow our hockey players. I think that sometimes us as parents feel that we need to show the coaches what they should be doing. Our job as the parent is not that, it is to encourage and grow our hockey players into good team mates and good people. I as any other parent gets frustrated at times when I see my little hockey player not playing or skating as hard as I know they can. However it is the coaches job to tell them to skate faster, pass more often, or take the shot. This is difficult for many of us to leave that control to a coach. However, if your child has a Great coach they will do what needs to be done to grow your hockey players skills into what they can become.
